Outdoors, Tradgardsforeningen Gardens are blooming lovely.

Boutiques and bon-bons
Small individual boutiques and several Scandinavian fashion chains can be found in and around Nygatan street and the main square, Stora Torget. Functional Swedish interior design abounds at Designtorget (www.designtorget.se). Chocolate-lovers should head for Cloettas Chokladbod (www.cloetta.se).

Choice cuisine
There are lots of restaurants in Linköping’s city centre. The traditional Swedish Restaurang Gula Huset (www.gulahuset.com) serves local fish and meat dishes, while Wasabi Sushi Bar (http://gastrogate.com) specialises in affordable Japanese cuisine. Top-end restaurant Stangs Magasin (www.stangsmagasin.se), satisfies refined palates and has beautiful views over the Stangan River.
